This IR heating tunnel is a highly efficient, precise, and fast heating system that uses targeted infrared radiation (IR) to transfer thermal energy to coated substrates as they move continuously on a conveyor.
In a finishing line for wood panels, the heating tunnel is usually used for heating the wet coating layer before curing, to make the coating layer enough smooth.
General
The tunnel is a long, enclosed structure lined with multiple IR emitters (like powerful heat lamps). Products are placed on a conveyor that moves at a controlled speed through the tunnel, receiving a precise amount of radiant energy to achieve the desired result, such as drying, curing, baking, or heating.
For different substrates, we have different length options, 4M / 6M / 8M / 10M / 12M, or others.
Capacity
Up to 1,200m2/hour (depending on substrate type and dimension)
Applications
Any substrate that is applied with the UV curable coating material or waterborne coating.
- Energy is directly transferred to the product, not wasted heating the air or conveyor belt. IR emitters reach their operating temperature almost instantly (especially short-wave), eliminating the need for long pre-heat times.
- Different materials absorb IR energy differently, this allows for heating a specific layer (like a water-based coating) without overheating the substrate (like a SPC sheet).
- Provides even heating across the entire surface of a product and ensuring a consistent finish.
- It is more compact than traditional convection ovens for the same throughput, saving valuable factory floor space.
- Less maintenance is required.

The structure is built with 50*150mm high-strength square HSS & 3mm thick cold plate. It’s designed for reliability and minimal maintenance, ensuring consistent and uninterrupted operation.
The enclosed chamber protects the emitters, and improves safety and energy efficiency by preventing heat loss to the surrounding environment.

Belt: Stainless steel wire mesh
The conveyor speed, combined with the tunnel’s length, determines the product’s ‘dwell time’ (exposure time)
Speed Control: Optional variable frequency drive
