Efficient and Practical Roll Coating Production Line for Plywood Panels
This coating line is designed to handle plywood substrate with UV curable coating, for high-speed production and offers excellent flexibility and efficiency, providing precise control over the coating thickness and achieving desired finishes. This line can be customized to fit your specific production requirements, whether it’s in terms of speed, capacity, or integration with other processes.
Finishing can be carried out for any size (e.g. 1220×2440mm, 4’ * 8’) and thickness (3-80 mm), also tailor-made, within the working capacities provided depending on the machine, up to a maximum width of 2600 mm.
Production can be for the most diverse areas: panels for interior decorating (for walls and cabinets), for door panels (for wooden doors), for interior use (for furniture and flooring).
All machines are manufactured entirely in house, with maximum control over design, production and testing before delivery.
- Stable coating film control technology and drying system to ensure coating quality.
- Reasonable combination of automated transfer and mechanical systems, ensuring stable and reliable operation.
- Simple and intuitive control system to ensure consistency and repeatability in coating processes.
Working Theory
The roller coating line consists of the following main components:
- Infeed Conveyor & Dust Cleaning Unit: Sheets are fed into the coating line from the loading area and got cleaned.
- Filler Coating Unit: This section applies the filler using the putty machine. The filler is evenly distributed on the sheets and fill-up the surfaces.
- UV Curing System: After the filler is applied, the sheets pass through a UV curing unit, where the UV light rapidly cures the coating, ensuring quick and efficient drying.
- Sanding: Sand the coating layer to make it smooth enough and better prepared for the next coating layer.
- Base Coating Unit: This section applies the base coat using the roller coating technique. The UV curable base coat is evenly distributed on the surfaces of the sheets.
- Second UV Curing System: After the base coat is applied, the sheets pass through a UV curing unit, where the UV light rapidly cures the coating, ensuring quick and efficient drying.
- Sanding: Sand the coating layer to make it smooth enough and better prepared for the next coating layer.
- Top Coating Unit: Once the base coat is cured, the top coating unit applies the second coat (top coat) using the roller coating method. This layer adds additional protection and enhances the desired finish.
- Third UV Curing System: The sheets then pass through another UV curing unit to cure the top coat, ensuring complete curing and a durable finish.
- Outfeed Conveyor: After the curing process is complete, the finished sheets are transported to the next stage or to a stacking area.

Features
1. Fully automated production line design, the coating speed is up to 20 meters/minute, supporting 24/7 continuous operation with a daily output exceeding 5,000 square meters per line.
2. Modular structure design, enables rapid switching between coating systems (UV coatings, water-based coatings, etc.) based on order requirements, with downtime for coating changeover <15 minutes.
3. Ensures uniform and consistent coating thickness across panels with stable quality. By using suitable functional coatings, it helps achieve superior adhesion performance.
4. Energy efficiency & eco-friendliness, VOC emissions reduced by 90%. 100% solid coating utilization eliminates overspray waste which is common in traditional spray processes.
5. Multi-Material Compatibility. Processes panels with widths of 600-1300mm and thicknesses of 3-80mm. Suitable for diverse substrates: MDF, particleboard, solid wood, engineered wood, and stone-plastic composite(SPC), fiberglass-reinforced panels, etc.
6. Reduces comprehensive costs (60%+ labor savings + 75% coating waste reduction). Shortens delivery cycles to within 48 hours. Meets demands for “high aesthetic appeal + extreme durability” coatings in premium furniture, custom cabinetry, and architectural decoration sectors.
